Conservation

The open spaces and physical beauty of Cape Elizabeth are the major reasons residents choose to live here. The Town has a long history of land conservation and an impressive record of funding the purchase of land.

Much of the Town's commitment to conservation is overseen by the Conservation Committee, a seven-member citizen board whose responsibilities include planning, construction and maintenance of trails, hosting Trails Day, and advising the Planning Board and the Town Council on conservation issues.
