04/22/2016 - The Town Council vote on the 2016-17 budget, originally scheduled for the May 9, 2016 council meeting, will be held prior to a council workshop on Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The change was made to comply with state law which requires that the school budget validation election, scheduled this year to coincide with state and municipal election June 14, to be held within 30 days of budget adoption. Public hearing on the combined town, school, Community Services and county budget remains scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, May 9.

04/13/2016 - The School Board adopted a $24.3 million budget for fiscal 2017 at their meeting April 12, 2016. The budget, up 3.2 percent over this year's, poses a $12.40 tax rate for school services, up 46 cents, or 3.7 percent, over this year's rate for schools.
