School Board Annual Committee Appointments

On December 12, 2023 the School Board voted to appoint board member representatives to the committees listed below for one-year:


Standing Committees:

  • Finance Chair Jennifer McVeigh, with Full Board Membership
  • Buildings and Grounds - Chair Elizabeth Scifres, with Jennifer McVeigh as Member
  • Negotiations - Jennifer McVeigh, Philip Saucier, and Cindy Voltz
  • Policy Chair Kathleen Curry-Sparks, with Heather Altenburg and Caitlin Sweet as Members


Appointments Requiring Board Representation:  Committee Appointments are made to either School Department committees other than Standing Committees, or to committees outside of the school system on which the School Board would like representation or has been requested to provide such.  These committees are not necessarily created by the board, but may advise the board on matters related to their specific function.

Advisory Committees, not requiring reappointment:  Advisory Committees are established by the board to perform a specific function i.e. study a particular problem or issue. The committee may make recommendations to the board but may not act for the board. Membership may include individuals who are not elected members of the board.  Advisory Committees do not require an annual reappointment; members typically serve for the length of the committee.

  • CE School Building Advisory Committee (SBAC) Co-Chair Cindy Voltz and Member Caitlin Sweet
  • The SBAC consists of nine members.  The Committee is a joint ad-hoc advisory committee of the School Board and Town Council, assisting them in their respective responsibilities for development of a school building project and funding which meets the Department of Education guidelines for major capital school construction projects and submit to the Town voters.

  • DEI Committee Kathleen Curry-Sparks
  • The DEI Committee works towards adopting policies and procedures, improving climate and culture for the purpose of supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school environment for staff and students.
