Town Manager Matthew Sturgis has announced that Deputy Fire Chief Steve Young will be the town's next Chief of the Cape Elizabeth Fire and Rescue Department.  Young is a 40 year member of the Fire Department, serving the past 13 years as Deputy Chief.  The interview panel reviewed ten applications and interviewed the three best candidates before unanimously choosing Young as the new Fire Chief.

Sturgis will bring an official action to the Town Council during the June 12, 2023 council meeting.  Young's official start date will be July 1.
