Review of Minutes of Meeting held July 13, 2009

Item# 119-2009 Consent to Games of Chance Application

St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church is applying to the Maine Department of Public Safety to operate a bingo/games of chance on September 12, 2009. Consent of the municipal officers is required as part of the application process.

Item# 120-2009 Thomas Memorial Library Study Committee Report

The Thomas Memorial Library Study Committee will be presenting its report to the Town Council. The report is planned to be reviewed by the Town Council at a workshop meeting on September 3, 2009.

Item# 121-2009 Shoreland Zoning

The Planning Board and the Ordinance Committee have completed their review of proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance relating to shoreland zoning. It is recommended a public hearing be set for Monday, September 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

Item# 122-2009 Budget Projection

The Town Council will review a projection of the municipal budgets for FY 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Item# 123-2009 Parking Regulations

The Chief of Police has recommended some amendments to the parking regulations on Cottage Lane. Parking in this vicinity is an issue appearing nearly every summer. We have also had a request to look at parking issues on Shore Road near the South Portland line. It is recommended that the Ordinance Committee conduct a comprehensive review of all of the local parking regulations and report back to the Town Council in November 2009.

Item# 124-2009 MMA Annual Ballot

The Town Council has received the annual ballot for officers of the Maine Municipal Association. The nominating committee was chaired by Cape Elizabeth Town Councilor Anne Swift-Kayatta. The Town Council ballot is due back to MMA by August 13, 2009.

Item# 125-2009 Interlocal Agreement with City of Portland

It is recommended the town manager be authorized to sign an Interlocal agreement with the City of Portland formalizing an agreement for dispatch and public safety answering point (PSAP) services.

Item# 126-2009 Shore Road Path Committee Report

It is recommended a public hearing be set for Monday, September 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall on the report of the Shore Road Path Committee.
