Cliff House Beach to close temporarily for stair improvements


Cliff House Beach at the end of Sea View Avenue will be closed for about a week beginning July 19, 2018 while the town replaces unsafe steps leading to the town-owned beach. Photo courtesy Maureen O'Meara

Cliff House Beach will be closed beginning on July 19, 2018 for approximately one week while work is done to replace the existing steps.

Thursday, July 19 - Beach and stairs will be closed all day for repairs to the base.

Friday, July 20 - Beach may reopen, if work on the base repairs goes smoothly. If not, the beach will remain closed.

Saturday, July 21-Sunday, July 22 - Beach is expected to be open over the weekend.

Monday July 23 until project completion - Beach closed again. Once the stairs are replaced the beach will reopen.

Heavy equipment will be onsite and members of the public should avoid the beach during this period.

The town of Cape Elizabeth appreciates your cooperation while it makes necessary safety improvements to the beach stairs and base. The beach will reopen after work is completed.

Cliff House Beach is a town-owned beach at the end of Sea View Avenue.
