(pdf) The council and the Planning Board will hold a joint workshop beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, to discuss proposed land-use amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, which are being drafted for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan.
Planning Decisions was asked to review the projections, based on 2000 census data and information from the State Planning Office, in light of the recent downturn in the housing market. The report does project a decrease in newcomers to Cape Elizabeth, but also points to a growing internal demand for housing by current Cape residents seeking to downsize their existing residences.
Frank O'Hara of Planning Decisions, the firm hired to review the projections used in the Comprehensive Plan, is expected to attend the workshop.
