Final phase of Scott Dyer Road reconstruction starting week of April 6

Weather permitting, work will be potentially getting underway on the third and final phase of improvements to Scott Dyer Road the week of April 6, 2020. Funding was approved in the FY 2020 budget to complete the project that was started in 2018.

This phase runs from Longfellow Drive to Patricia Drive. Similar to last summer's work on Phase II, it will involve a full-depth reconstruction of the road, new sidewalks and a paved shoulder. The scope of the project will also include important stormwater collection upgrades.

Like any other construction projects, motorists will experience temporary delays during the day as trucks and equipment do their work. The contractor is required to maintain a single lane traffic at all times, but motorists may want to consider an alternate route, as this is the primary route to the Recycling Center and neighborhoods off from Wells Road and Spurwink Avenue.

The contractor undertaking the project is L.P. Murray & Son's, Inc. of Cape Elizabeth. They were awarded the contract after submitting the low bid back in December of 2019. If you have any questions related to any portion of the project please feel free to contact me at 207-799-4151 or via email at robert.malley@capeelizabeth.org
