Rachel Davis appointed director of Thomas Memorial Library

Rachel Q. Davis, assistant library director and youth services librarian at the Thomas Memorial Library, has been appointed library director, Town Manager Matthew Sturgis announced Feb. 13, 2020.

"With Rachel's history with the town, her professional qualifications, familiarity with the community, and countless other strengths, it is a great development to advance a valued town employee from within," said Sturgis.

Davis has worked at the Thomas Memorial Library since 1993, coming to Cape Elizabeth from her native Tucson, Ariz. She has a master's degree in library science from the University of Arizona, and bachelor's degree in English from Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Ore.

Sturgis said Davis' appointment is subject to Town Council approval, on the agenda for their next meeting March 9.

Davis has served as interim director since the end of January, following the resignation of Director Kyle Neugebauer. [news article]
