Informational meeting on final phase of Scott Dyer Road improvements set for Oct. 23

An informational meeting on the third and final phase of the Scott Dyer Road improvement project will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at Town Hall.

The phase will involve full reconstruction, new sidewalks and a paved shoulder from Longfellow Drive to Patricia Drive, said Public Works Director Robert Malley in a letter to neighborhood residents.

The work will be similar to Phase II of the improvement project, completed this summer on the lower (western) portion of the road between Patricia Drive and Spurwink Avenue [news article]. "We have received many compliments on the improvements; especially from those pedestrians using the new sidewalk," Malley said.

Also similar to Phase II, Phase III will include stormwater collection upgrades. Bids will be solicited later this year and construction is currently programmed to get underway in by May 1, 2020.

The Town Council approved funds to undertake the third, and final, phase of the project in the FY 2020 budget.

At the informational meeting Oct. 23, residents and interested parties may inspect the plans and offer comments. The meeting will be held in the chamber at Town Hall.

If you are unable to attend this meeting and have any questions regarding the project, please contact Malley at 207-799-4151 or email robert.malley@capeelizabeth.org
