Road and pool closures; adjusted fitness center and library hours for 20th annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K Aug. 5

The 20th Annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K will be held in Cape Elizabeth beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2015.

Several Cape Elizabeth roads will be closed the morning of Aug. 5 to accommodate the race. In addtion, the Thomas Memorial Library will open one hour later at 10 a.m.; the fitness center will be open from noon-6 p.m.; and the Richards Pool will be closed all day.

Let's Go!, a nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program based in Portland, has been chosen as beneficiary of this year's race. A program of The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center, Let's Go! is focused on increasing physical activity and healthy eating for children from birth to age 18. The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank will provide a $30,000 donation to Let's Go!.

Race results will be posted on the Beach to Beacon website, and on coolrunning.com, after 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5.

These road closures have been announced for Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017:

Route 77, Sprague Hall to Kettle Cove Road
6 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Scott Dyer Road Eastbound
6:45 a.m. - 8 a.m.
All of Fowler Road (except shuttle buses)
7:15 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Route 77, Kettle Cove Road to Old Ocean House Road
7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Crescent Beach State Park
7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Route 77, at Hill Way
7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Old Ocean House Road (all)
7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Shore Road south of Fort Williams
7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
