Monday, May 15, 2017          Special Town Council Meeting to Vote on the 2018 Budget
Tuesday, June 13, 2017          School Budget Election Referendum
It is recommended the school budget referendum be held the second Tuesday in June. If there were to be a state-wide referendum election it would most likely be held on the same date. June 13, 2017 will also coincide with the special election to fill the unexpired term of a Trustee to the Portland Water District.
Item #42-2017            Appointment to the Fort Williams Park Committee
25:48 The Appointments Committee recommends the appointment of Meg Baxter to fill an unexpired term on the Fort Williams Park Committee for a term to expire 12/31/2018; said term is effective immediately. The appointment will create a vacancy on the Thomas Memorial Library Committee which will be filled through the appointments process.
On December 15, 2016 Stephen Lyons resigned from the Fort Williams Park Committee just a few
days after the conclusion of the annual appointments process. Had there been another opening on the
Fort Williams Park Committee, Meg Baxter would have been recommended for appointment, instead
she was asked to serve on the Thomas Memorial Library Committee which she agreed. The
appointment to the Fort Williams Park Committee will create a vacancy on the Thomas Memorial
Library Committee to be filled through the appointments process.
