We offer versatile educational, cultural, recreational and social enrichment programs to youth, adults and seniors. Located in Cape Elizabeth High School is the Donald L Richards Community Pool and Fitness Center where we conduct a variety of structured and unstructured programs to members and guests. The facility is open seven days a week.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Pool & Fitness Center Coordinator, the lifeguard is charged with effectively and safely supervising the pool environment to prevent drowning and injuries by providing safety instructions, recognizing and responding to emergencies, and rendering CPR and first aid in accordance with the policies established by the Red Cross.
Position Requirements

18 years of age or older

Swim at least 300 yards

Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard

Communicate effectively with facility stakeholders

Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual

Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to obtain Red Cross lifeguard certification within 14 days of hire
