Public forum on draft Winnick Woods master plan set for June 8

The Cape Elizabeth Conservation Commission invites the public to comment on the draft Winnick Woods Master Plan on Wednesday, June 8, from 7-9 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The Cape Elizabeth Conservation Commission has prepared a draft master plan for Winnick Woods, a 57-acre property owned by the Town of Cape Elizabeth and located on Sawyer Road. (See map below)

The draft master plan respects the restrictions on the property that it be used for passive recreation and lays out a network of trails on the property and a management plan to preserve a variety of landscapes and wildlife habitats.

The Conservation Commission is requesting public comments on the draft master plan before they send their recommendations to the Town Council for further review. The public forum will include an overview of the draft plan and a presentation from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service on New England Cottontail Wildlife Habitat.
