Special Municipal Referendum
Pursuant to Title 30-A.M.R.S.A. 2528(5)(B), this ballot must be accompanied
by the recommendations of the Town Council and School Board. The Town Council
and School Board both recommend a "Yes" vote to the following question.
"Shall the Town renovate and expand the Swimming Pool facilities at the Cape
Elizabeth High School to provide for, among other things, a new pool entrance
area, spectator seating, and pool basin; renovations to locker rooms; and
repairs to the pool room, all at an estimated project cost of $2,200,000.00?"

Question 1: Bond Issue
Do you favor a $20,000,000 bond issue to improve the Maine economy by supporting
innovative research and development by businesses and non-profit and education
institutions in the fields of biotechnology, computers and other information
technology, aquaculture and marine technology, forestry and agriculture and
advanced materials?
Total estimated life time cost is $30,710,000, representing $20,000,000 in
principal and $10,710,000 in interest (assuming interest at 5.10% over 20
years).
Question 2: Bond Issue
Do you favor a $7,000,000 bond issue for the following purposes:
1. $3,350,000 to construct water pollution control facilities, providing
the state match for $10,000,000 in federal funds;
2. $1,000,000 to protect te public health and safety and the environment
by providing funds for the cleanup of tire stockpile;
3. $1,500,000 to investigate, abate, clean up and mitigate threats to the
public health and the environment from hazardous subsurface discharges; and,
4. $1,500,000 to construct drinking water system improvements that address
public health threats, providing the state match for $7,100,000 in federal
funds?
Total estimated life time cost is $7,861,000, representing $7,000,000 in
principal and $861,000 in interest (assuming interest at 4.10% over 5 years).
