Stream flowing toward Spurwink River now officially 'Dyer Brook'

The U.S. Board on Geographic Names has approved a proposal from a resident of Sawyer Road to apply the new name, "Dyer Brook" to a previously unnamed stream flowing across his property to the Spurwink River.

James C. Cox, 1148 Sawyer Road, suggested the name to the board, to honor members of the Dyer Family who owned the property where he now resides.
