Nomination papers available for Nov. 6, 2012 Town Council, School Board election

Nomination papers for the Nov. 6, 2012 municipal election are available at the town clerk's office. (directions)

Three seats on the Town Council and three seats on the School Board will be up for election. They are currently held by Councilors Sara Lennon, Jessica Sullivan and Jim Walsh; and School Board members John Christie, David Hillman and Mary K. Williams-Hewitt. All are three-year terms.

Papers are due Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.

QUALIFICATIONS
*Registered Voter of Cape Elizabeth
*Residency Required During Term of Office

SIGNATURES REQUIRED TO BE NOMINATED FOR OFFICE

• Between 25 and 100 registered voters of Cape Elizabeth. The voter may sign as many nomination papers for each office as the voters chooses, regardless of the number of vacancies to be filled.

NOMINEE MUST APPEAR IN PERSON, PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE, TO COMPLETE THE NOMINATION PAPERS.

SIGNS
Each candidate is encouraged to contact the Town Clerk prior to erecting political signs. The Town's Sign Ordinance, Chapter 21, limits the size and placement of political signs in Cape Elizabeth.

OFFICE HOURS
