Arts Commission hosts final artist's reception as a Town-appointed board Dec. 9

The Cape Elizabeth Arts Commission will host its final artist's reception as an appointed Town board from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the Thomas Memorial Library.

The reception kicks off a Thomas Memorial Library gallery exhibit by Patricia Lawrence Rizzo, a Falmouth painter whose work was purchased for display at the Town Hall during the 2010 Engine One Labor Day Art Show.

More of her work, in an exhibit entitled "On the Way Home", is on display at the library through Dec. 31.

The Arts Commission, disbanded as a Town appointed board effective Dec. 31, is seeking status as an independent, non-profit organization. For more information or to become involved in the transition, please contact Julia Bassett Schwerin.
