During the next few weeks, L.P. Murray & Sons of Cape Elizabeth will continue clearing the land and removing many invasive plant roots, which will minimize future problems with invasive plants. Once excavation is complete, grass will be planted to prepare the site for landscape design implementation in the spring.

“We are very excited to see tangible progress toward our goal of planting the Cliffside Site in 2012," said Sarah Boudreau, steering committee vice chair. "Terrence J. DeWan & Associates with Bruce John Riddell have created a wonderful design for Cliffside that is not only beautiful, but sensitive to the needs of the town,” she said.

The Arboretum at Fort Williams Park is a project of the Fort Williams Charitable Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit.
