Cape Elizabeth's Recycling Committee and Public Works Department invite residents to see Cape recycling in action at ecomaine's open house from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at their trash-to-energy facility at 64 Blueberry Road, Portland (outer Congress Street).

Residents will be able to see how Cape Elizabeth's trash and recycling are processed at the center.

Ecomaine is offering free tours of Maine's only singe-sort recycling facility, as well as its trash-to-energy processes. Free recycling bins will be available while they last, and composting and other recycling activities will be demonstrated. There will be food and kids activities, and participants can also register to win a 10-foot kayak made of recycled materials.
