Technology, curriculum planning goals for School Board this year

The School Board has approved an eight point list of goals for the current year.

The list, generated at a goal-setting workshop in January, was approved at the board's Feb. 10, 2009 meeting

The list represents those aspects of the School Department's strategic plan on which the School Board will focus its efforts. Board Chairman Trish Brigham said the board will document and periodically report on progress made toward these goals:

    1. Review and update the Communication Plan with the School Board’s various stakeholders.
    2. Develop and document an effective and timely Board and Superintendent evaluation process.
    3. Have an annual plan for building a respectful working relationship with the Town Council and an understanding of each other.
    4. Start planning and further developing the work of the Technology Report to better integrate existing technology with curriculum and staff and achieve greater administrative efficiencies.
    5. Set a timeline for completion of the Curriculum Management Plan with periodic check-ins.
    6. Develop a functional plan to regularly check-in on Board goals.
    7. Develop, with District Leadership Team, a plan for data-based priority setting and decision making.
    8. As soon as possible, after goal setting, the Board will review and update, as necessary, its committee structure.
