Eighth-grade 'Project Citizen' showcase slated for broadcast on CETV

Eighth-graders in Evan Solender's social studies class presented proposals for enhanced public policies to a group of more than 100 guests at the schools' Project Citizen showcase on April 15, 2009.

Video of the local showcase will be presented on CETV, Cape Elizabeth public access cable Channel 3, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. June 6, 7 and 8, 2009.

One of the presentations, “Inexperienced Drivers, Few Survivors,” went on to win at the state level in Augusta. The presentation proposes to toughen driver’s license requirements. Their research portfolio and presentation will be sent to Washington, D.C. to compete in the national showcase.
