Nominating papers for Nov. 3 municipal election available Monday, July 27

Nomination papers for the Nov. 3, 2009 municipal election will be available Monday, July 27, 2009, at the town clerk's office.

Four seats on the Town Council, including one unexpired term, and three seats on the School Board will be up for election.

Three, three-year terms on the council that expiring are currently held by David Backer, Sara Lennon and Jim Rowe. One year remaining of an unexpired term held by Paul McKenney will also be up for election.

Three, three-year terms on the School Board that will be up for election are currently held by Trish Brigham, Karen Burke and Peter Cotter.

*Residency Required During Term of Office

SIGNATURES REQUIRED TO BE NOMINATED FOR OFFICE
Between 25 and 100 registered voters of Cape Elizabeth.

NOMINEE MUST APPEAR IN PERSON, PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE, TO COMPLETE THE NOMINATION PAPERS.

SIGNS
Each candidate is encouraged to contact the Town Clerk prior to erecting political signs. The Town's Sign Ordinance, Chapter 21, limits the size and placement of political signs in Cape Elizabeth.
