High School invites all to November run of hit musical 'Oliver'

The classic musical "Oliver" is this year's pick for the Cape Elizabeth High School Theater's fall production.

The show opens Friday, Nov. 13, and runs for seven performances through Wednesday, Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.

The story is based on Charles' Dickens 1837 novel "Oliver Twist", and includes the familiar numbers, “Food Glorious Food”, “You Got to Pick a Pocket or Two”, “Consider Yourself at Home”, and “I’d Do Anything for You.”

Besides Cape Elizabeth High School's student talent, the cast of "Oliver" features one alumnus, some of the High School's teachers, and Cape children in grades 1-5.

Showtimes are:

  • Friday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 22, 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 24, 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving Eve), 7:30 p.m.

Tickets, available at the door, are $8; $5 for students and seniors.

The Cape Elizabeth High School auditorium is located at the school, 345 Ocean House Road. Doors open a half-hour before curtain. The show is appropriate for all ages.
