Nominations sought for Ralph T. Gould Citizenship Award

The Town Council is seeking nominations from the public for this year's recipient of the Ralph T. Gould Citizenship Award.

The award, established in 1986, was named for the late Ralph Gould to recognize his community service, and subsequently to recognize those who provide community service in the same spirit as Ralph Gould. Gould was the first recipient.

The last Gould Award was presented by the council in 2007 to Carol Fritz, a former town councilor, for her longtime, consistent service to Cape Elizabeth through town government, volunteer boards and numerous community organizations.

The award was presented to Fritz in December of 2007, and no award was made in 2008, said Town Manager Michael McGovern.
Anyone wishing to make a nomination may contact Town Council Chairman Jim Rowe by e-mail, chaseco_@hotmail.com, or send a written nomination to Rowe at Town Hall, P.O. Box 6260, Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107.
