Government class to moderate two Candidate's Nights for municipal election

Students from Cape Elizabeth High School's advanced placement government class will moderate two Candidate's Nights for the upcoming municipal election.

The Candidate's Night the School Board election will be Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, and the night for Town Council candidates will be Wednesday, Oct. 21. Both are scheduled from 6-8 p.m. in the Town Hall chamber, 320 Ocean House Road, and will be broadcast live over CETV, Cape Elizabeth cable Channel 3.

On each night, candidates for municipal office will be seated at the dias, with a student from the government class seated in the middle as moderator. Each candidate will have three minutes to deliver introductory remarks. Each candidate will then have an opportunity to answer specific questions posed by the moderator. At the end of the question-and-answer period, each candidate will be given two minutes for closing remarks.

Viewers will be able to call in questions during the live broadcasts at 767-CAPE (767-2273) ext. 255. Members of the audience will also have an opportunity to submit questions to the moderator.
