Council poised to consider business district rewrite

The Town Council is poised to consider a rewrite of the town's Business A District at its meeting June 8, 2009.

A revised draft, intended to incorporate the conclusions from a June 3, 2009 workshop, has been posted on this Web site.

The council held a public hearing on the rewrite in May, the most recent of several meetings, hearings and public forums held on the rewrite. At that meeting the council voted to table consideration to the June meeting.

The proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance are an attempt, as directed by the 2007 comprehensive plan, to create a business district in Cape Elizabeth to serve the needs of their neighborhoods.
