Student-data gathering for alumni directory about to begin
The Cape Elizabeth School Department, and the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation, are working with publisher Harris Connect to develop an alumni directory of students who have graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in the past 50 years or more.
After initial work with the company on the content of the book, including letters, historical information, and pictures, the actual gathering of the data for each student is about to begin, Superintendent Alan Hawkins announced Tuesday.
On Friday, July 17, 2009, letters and/or e-mail will be sent out to all known graduates by Harris Publishing. The correspondence will include information about the publication, the types of information that will be included in the directory, and a telephone number so that Harris can be contacted directly for updates of specific information.
Hawkins said the School Department hopes all alumni will take part and become registered in the directory. "The information provided becomes a very important document of those students who proudly recognize Cape Elizabeth High School as proud alum," he said.
