Committee encourages students to 'Walk/Bike to School'
Nov. 14
The School Board's Wellness committee will sponsor a "Walk/Bike to School
Day" on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Motorists are asked to be extra cautious of students
in grades K-8 who will be walking or riding their bikes to and from school.
Adult volunteers will help with crossings at major intersections along Route
77, including those at Shore Road, Mitchell Road, Fowler/Old Ocean House
Road, and the High School entrance.
Students riding the school bus will be dropped off at the High School track
and walk to the Pond Cove or Middle School.
Rain date for this fall's Walk/Bike to School Day is Friday, Nov. 16.
The Wellness Committee held its first "Walk to School Day" last June.
