The Cape Elizabeth Town Council will accept public comments on the proposal from the citizen group "KidsTurf" to place an artificial turf surface and related facilities on the athletic field located behind the Cape Elizabeth High School.

The meeting will be held on Monday, June 12, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Councilors will consider authorizing fund-raising for the project, the approval of a temporary fund-raising sign, and the creation of a working committee, which will be charged with future funding, naming rights and other policies and procedures relating to the use of the turf field.

The Town Council at the June 6th workshop reviewed plans for the turf field. If the Town Council endorses the project on June 12, the citizen group will move forward with fund raising, appropriate reviews and procedures to build the field.
