Trail Work Event Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009

The Conservation Commission will hold a trail work event on Saturday, November 21st, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Winnick Woods. The work will involve carrying in lumber and constructing sleeper type boardwalks (two boards laid over a post). Interested volunteers are encouraged to attend, if only to carry wood to the construction site. Volunteers should park in the parking lot or adjacent Sawyer Rd and walk down the main trail. Volunteers should wear gloves and may also want to bring tools such as hammers, saws, tape measure and shovels.

Conservation Commission Site Inspection Nov. 12, 2009

Conservation Commission representatives will be meeting on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m. at the Cape Elizabeth Public Works Building on Cooper Drive to conduct a site inspection for parties interested in bidding on upgrades to the Inner Loop trail at Gull Crest. The Cape Elizabeth Conservation Commission will hold a site visit on Sunday, November 1st, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Winnick Woods to evaluate the trail conditions and potentially identify locations to preposition materials for trail improvements this winter.
